PASS mailroom overview

In Housing associations the mailroom is responsible for receiving the incoming mail and then delivering it to the postbox of the flat or housing block reception area for further processing. When the mail is received PASS Mailrroom logs it in and barcodes it where necessary. It may then be put in mailbags and onto vans for delivery to another part of the block or estate. A PDA scanning the barcode either on the van or bag records and tracks each movement of the mail items. The single scan of the barcode records the movement of everything inside the bag  so that the location of individual packages is always known.
