Scheduled Audits
Part of asset management is scheduling audits. This means defining when they need checking and then setting audit intervals. The audit will give you information about the following and enables you to take quick action when a problem is identified.
-The condition of the asset
-Cost and depreciation
-Life expectancy
-Maintenance carried out
-Current owner and location
Issues to employees
Each time company property is issued to an employee, whether its a phone, laptop, sales kit, samples, tools or anything else, a simple scan of the items barcode will register it to that persons location. Similarly on return of the items a second scan logs it back in to the company care. This means that at a glance you can see exactly who has got what and where it is. Signatures can be captured with signature pads.
Maintenance and compliance
The Locator system records maintenance and health and safety checks throughout the site. You set up your own tests and checks for each item type whether its a machine like a PC or photocopier, or a buildings safety compliance. For example routine records of toilet cleaning. The maintenance schedules are similar to the audit schedules but include the tests to be carried out. Checks are recorded with the PDA and detailed reports run to provide histories of the checks.
